How To Check NSFAS Funding Status
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za
- Log into your MyNSFAS Account by entering your username and password
- Click On Track Funding Progress

NSFAS Application Status Results And Their Meanings
- Application Submitted:
This means your application is successfully loaded on the NSFAS system. NSFAS will review and give you a notification after the review.
- Filtering:
The NSFAS system is checking if you’re a new applicant or a returning student applicant and whether you have qualifications before
- Validation:
This means the National Student Financial Aid Scheme is running third-party checks with SASSA and the Department of Home Affairs
- Evaluation:
This status means NSFAS is trying to verify all the documents you have submitted during your application.
- Funding Eligibility:
This status means NSFAS is trying to verify the household financial status you provided in your application for funding.
- Awaiting Academic Results/Admission:
At this status, NSFAS is verifying your academic results and your admission status from the institution you applied to or have been accepted for study.
NSFAS will check if you meet the requirements for the funding. Lots of students find this traumatizing because it takes longer than they expected.
However, you don’t have to worry, NSFAS will approve you once your institution provides them with the information they need.
- Awaiting Registration:
At this status, it means NSFAS is waiting for data from your institution so that they can create a bursary agreement for you.

- Signing Of Agreement:
You’ll need to sign your bursary agreement in order for NSFAS to disburse your allowances. Your application has been approved already.
