    Provide proof of English Proficiency where English was not used as a medium of learning and teaching (the University prefers the applicant to take the IELTS at an overall score of 6 and TOEFL at an average score of 80–104 for Undergraduate programs) Alternatively, you may elect to write the University of Johannesburg English Language Programme Test (UJELP). Should you choose to write the University of Johannesburg English Language Programme Test (UJELP), you are required to obtain an overall score of 6. Applicants who are attending or have attended a University within or outside the Republic of South Africa must submit an academic transcript that covers the period of study, especially if they intend on being granted exemption from modules or courses at the University.

Degree-seeking students

In order to study for a South African degree applicants are required to have achieved a South African National Senior Certificate with a degree endorsement. All International applicants with high school qualifications achieved outside of the Republic of South Africa require a certificate of exemption from the Matriculation Board of South Africa for admission into undergraduate studies. The following supporting documents must be submitted to the Matriculation Board at the address provided below;

  • Form M30 (this form can be downloaded on the Matriculation Board website https://mb.usaf.ac.za)
  • Correctly certified copies of the applicants educational qualifications certified by a South African High Commission,
  • Consulate, Trade Mission, or a Public Notary in your home country
  • A correctly certified copy of your passport or birth certificate certified by a South African High Commission, Consulate,

UNIVERSITY FEES

Fees generally increase between 5 and 10 percent per year. Please contact the University in November 2024 to obtain the final fees for the 2025 academic year.

Please Note: All accepted International applicants are required by the Department of Home Affairs to provide proof of available funds for the full tuition fee of the academic year and proof of Medical Aid administered in South Africa paid for a full academic year of study prior to receiving their study visa.

All privately (i.e. Self, Parent/s or Guardian) funded international students are required to pay their tuition and residence fees (on-campus residences) as follows:

  • An upfront payment of 40% of tuition and residence fees must be paid before or at registration.
  • 30% of the tuition and residence fees are to be paid by 30 April.
  • 30% of the tuition and residence fees are to be paid by 31 July.

International levy 2025

The levies mentioned below are to be paid in line with the above-mentioned fees structural payment above together with the non-refundable International Levy, Registration fee, and ICT Levy. PLEASE NOTE that the International levy expires on 31 December of each year.

  • SADC- and other African Countries – (Postgraduate, Undergraduate, Full-time, Part-time) – R2 000-00
  • Other countries – R17 000.00

The University of Fort Hare (UFH) registration periods for first-time students are:

The 2023-2024 academic year will start on March 15. Online registration will commence on March 1.

How to register

Registration will be done online at: https://www.ufh.ac.za/

Step-by-step guide

  1. Select registration. This can be found at the top left of your screen.
  2. Select declaration by applicant. Please read and acknowledge the content and then select I accept. You have to complete this process before you will be allowed to continue with your registration. This is only applicable if this is your first online registration. Select register now(on the left side of your screen).
  3. Your qualification information for 2023 will be displayed. Enter your employment status by selecting a value from the list. Select save and continue.
  4. The modules for your qualification will be displayed. Make your selection from the text box on the left. Select save and continue once you have selected the modules for which you want to register. Note: you may only register for 120 credits or the annual total of your programme for any specific academic year. Select continue and view the modules selected
  5. .Select I accept to confirm the registration of modules. Select accept registration in order to finalise your registration. Your proof of registration will be displayed.

UCT Online Application 202-2024 Date

Application for study admission opens on 1 April 2023 and closes on 31 July 2023. Prospective applicants can only submit applications from the date the application will be opened. Applicants must submit their application for enrollment before the application deadline.

UCT Application Fee

Prospective applicants will pay an application fee. The University of Cape Town has an application fee for both South African citizen applicants and international student applicants. The application fee differs for each applicant.

UCT Application Requirements

Application Fee And Requirements

There are certain conditions you must meet before filing an application to the University of Cape Town. There are both monetary and document requirements that must be met.

  • The application fee is R100 for South African applicants and all other applicants within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
  • For applicants who are outside the SADC, the application fee is R300.
  • Graduate School of Business applicants within South Africa and all the other African countries will also pay R1750 for the application fee.
  • Graduate School of Business applicants outside the African continent get to pay USD300 for the application fee.

Note that the application fee is not refundable and can be paid by direct bank deposit, Credit Card, or EFT. No matter the payment method, make sure you always quote your application number as a reference.

Acceptance deposit

If you are offered a place on one of the following programmes offered by the Graduate School of Business, you will be asked to pay an acceptance deposit as reflected below. Acceptance deposits are not payable for any other programmes at UCT.

Acceptance fees are non-refundable and will be credited to your student-fee account. Remember to quote your new student number when making this payment. The acceptance fees are currently:

Master of Business Administration: South African/African applicants R15 000
Master of Business Administration: International applicants R30 000
Associate in Management (AIM) R5 000
Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA): South African/African applicants R10 000
Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA): International applicants R20 000
Executive Master of Business Administration: South African/African applicants R15 000
Executive Master of Business Administration: International applicants R30 000

Tuition fees

Students at UCT pay tuition fees for every course taken. These tuition fees vary from course to course and cover:

  • registration
  • all charges for classes, tutorials and laboratories
  • ordinary university examinations
  • library access
  • compulsory personal accident insurance
  • the use of general sporting facilities
  • in the case of medical students, hospital fees for clinical instruction.

Note: Tuition fees do not cover membership in clubs or societies.
