My Nsfas Bursary 2023-2024

My Nsfas Bursary 2023-2024: Do you want to apply for the NSFAS bursary but are unsure of where to start? Well, we can help! Here’s all you need to know about how you can go about applying for an NSFAS bursary. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is a program run by the South African government that offers financial assistance in the form of bursaries and loans to eligible students at public universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges in South Africa to help cover the cost of their higher education after they graduate from high school.  The National Student Financial Aid Scheme(NSFAS) Bursary is likely to open on 2 November and close on 21 January 2024. All those who want to apply for NSFAS should take note of the application date and make sure they have all of your supporting documentation below and that you are eligible to apply before applying online.

Who qualifies for NSFAS funding?

  • All South African citizens
  • All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
  • Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
  • A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
  • Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Provide your own cellphone number and email address
  2. You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
  3. National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
  4. The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
  5. The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  6. If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
  7. All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
  8. An applicant who is known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

How to Apply for NSFAS Online Bursary

  1. Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
  2. Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
  3. Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
  4. Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
  5. Update your personal information
  6. Answer the questions you see on the screen
  7. Upload all the required supporting documents
  8. Finally, you click on ‘submit
