8. An applicant who is known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

Nsfas Unisa Allowances 2023-2024: NSFAS students receive a monthly stipend, which is periodically provided by the institution. The University of South Africa manages the allowance payments for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) twice a month (Unisa). In the first and third weeks of each month, allowances will be processed. The NSFAS allowances and reimbursements will be deposited into student accounts using a new electronic funds transfer (EFT) process that Unisa will implement. NSFAS UNISA Allowances

The following allowances are provided to students by NSFAS:

Allowance for personal care

Every NSFAS-funded student receives a personal allowance worth R2,900 annually.

Transport Compensation

You qualify for the transport allowance and will get R7 350 per year if you reside fewer than 40 kilometres from the college.

Allowance for lodging

Students who reside in private housing more than 40 kilometres from the college should:

R15 750 is awarded to rural students each year.

Per-urban area students are given R18,900 annually.

Urban residents who attend school are given R25 200 annually.

Who Qualifies For UNISA NSFAS Allowances

Candidates seeking admission with the intention of obtaining their first undergraduate degrees in the 2024 academic year.

• returning students who skipped a year of enrollment in 2023, did not complete their undergraduate degree and did not exceed the N+ maximum.
• NSFAS will accept returning and new students who did not sign up for classes during the previous academic year in 2024.
• Students who desire to switch to the NSFAS DHET grant but are currently receiving aid through another NSFAS bursary.

Required Documents For Filling NSFAS Online Application

3. Certified copies of your Identification Documents (ID)
4. You should have applied for a public institution and waiting for admission acceptance
5. Certified or official copy of recent payslip, employment letter, not older than three months
6. Prove household income (this includes SASSA grants, Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), or retirement, disability, or other financial benefits you get.)
7. Copy of parents/guardian/spouse/ Identification documents (if applicable)
8. If you’re disability, you’ll complete a disability Annexure A and B and submit them
