The core business of the NSFAS is to provide financial support to disadvantaged students who wish to further their studies at public universities or TVET colleges. The university’s top aim is to make these scholarships available to deserving students on all of TUT’s campuses. Around 30 000 TUT students are supported by the NSFAS each year through financial help totalling more than R1.4 billion. Who Qualifies For The Tut Nsfas?

You qualify for an NSFAS bursary if you are a South African citizen who plans to study in 2023 or you are already studying at a public university or TVET college and you meet the following requirements:

SASSA recipients automatically qualify for financial eligibility
Your combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year
A person with a disability with a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per year
Must have email and cell phone number

What Are The Requirements Needed During The Application Process?

NSFAS may need more information from you to process your application, check what supporting documents are required and ensure that you have all the relevant information:

Your own cellphone number and email address
Copy of your ID or birth certificate
ID copies of parents, guardian or spouse (If applicable)
Your proof of income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable)
Your parents, guardian or spouse’s proof of income
If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required
Applicants with a disability must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form, click here to download

How To Apply For Tut Nsfas Online Application

Visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za online
Then, you have to click on the “myNSFAS” tab
After that, you create your myNSFAS account
After creating myNSFAS account, you then have to click on the “Apply” tab
Answer the following questions you see on your screen
Update all your personal information
Upload all the required supporting documents
Lastly, Click on “Submit” to send your application for review.
