srd sassa relief grant 2023-2024
The R350 relief grant was introduced by the South African government in 2020 as a temporary measure to provide financial assistance to individuals who were not eligible for other social grants and who had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant was initially set to run from May to October 2020 but was later extended to April 2021.
To qualify for the R350 relief grant, you had to meet the following criteria:
1. Be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee.
2. Be between the ages of 18 and 59.
3. Not be receiving any other form of income support, such as a social grant or unemployment insurance.
4. Have no other means of financial support.
5. Be registered on the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) database.
The R350 relief grant application process was simple, and applicants could apply via the following methods:
1. Apply online through the SASSA website.
2. Apply using WhatsApp by sending a message to 082 046 8553.
3. Apply by email by sending an email to SRD@sassa.gov.za.
4. Apply in person at your nearest SASSA office.
Once your application was approved, you would receive a monthly payment of R350 for the duration of the grant. The payments were made through various methods, including bank transfer, cash send, or voucher.
It is important to note that the R350 relief grant was a temporary measure and is no longer available. However, if you are in need of financial assistance, you can consider applying for other SASSA grants, such as the Special COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant or other social grants, if you meet the eligibility criteria.
