    Sassa R350 grant applications are accepted on a monthly basis. All SRD R350 grant candidates must validate award requests at least every three months.

    SRD R350 grant application Requirements

    Every program has rules or guidelines that users can consult. The extra material is required to be submitted by the applicants.

    The following prerequisites must be met by applicants:

    1. They must be both citizens of and approved permanent residents of South Africa.
    2. You cannot receive money from another organization or source of income if you don’t have a job.

    Type of Grants that Sassa gives and their Requirements

    Older Person’s Grant

    Candidates should fulfill the following criteria:

    • The candidate must be a legal permanent resident, a refugee, or a citizen of South Africa.
    • The candidate must be a South African national.
    • At least 60 years of age is required.
    • A personal social grant cannot be accepted by the nominee.
    • The means test must be passed by both the candidate and spouse.
    • A public institution is unable to accommodate or assist the petitioner.

    Child Support Grant

    Candidates must fulfill the criteria given below:

    1. The primary caregiver must be a refugee, a South African national, or a long-term occupant.
    2. Both the petitioner and the child must be citizens of South Africa.
    3. The applicant must be the primary caregiver for the child.
    4. The child or children in question must be under the age of 18.
    5. Both the candidate and the spouse must meet the requirements of the means test.
    6. Six children are the most that can be sought without biological births.
    7. The child cannot be cared for in a public area.

    Foster Child Grant

    Candidates should meet the requirements listed below:

    1. It is a requirement that foster parents be South African nationals, refugees, or long-term residents.
    2. Both the petitioner and the child must be citizens of South Africa.
    3. The foster parent(s) must have been granted legal custody of the child during the time of the award.

    Disability Grant

    Applicants must meet the requirements listed below:

    1. The candidate must be a South African national, a refugee, or someone with permission to live there.
    2. South African citizenship is necessary for the position.
    3. The applicant’s age must fall between 18 and 59.
    4. It is necessary to have a medical or assessment report attesting to the applicant’s disability.
    5. Three months before the application deadline, the applicant’s medical examination had to be finished.
    6. Both the candidate and the spouse must meet the requirements of the means test.
    7. The petitioner cannot be helped or accommodated by a public institution.
    8. Any instances in the applicant’s history where they got social recognition are not allowed to be brought up.

    Care Dependency Grant

    The following requirements must be satisfied by applicants:

    1. The candidate must be a legal permanent resident, a refugee, or a citizen of South Africa.
    2. Both the petitioner and the child must be South African nationals.
    3. The minor has to be younger than 18.
    4. A medical or assessment report attesting to a substantial, ongoing disability must be provided by the petitioner.
    5. Except for foster parents, the candidate and spouse must adhere to the means test standards.
    6. Children that need constant supervision are not allowed to live in public structures.

    Grant-in-Aid

    The following prerequisites have to be met by applicants:

    • The applicant must routinely need assistance from another person for daily living duties due to a physical or mental handicap and be in receipt of an Older Persons’ Grant, Handicap Grant, or War Veteran’s Grant.
    • The applicant may not receive care from a facility that receives state funding for the applicant’s housing or care.

    How to apply SRD grant applications

    The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) online application process offers applicants three options, including:

    • APPLICATION VIA WHATSAPP
    • APPLICATION VIA SRD WEBSITE
    • APPLICATION VIA SASSA CHATBOT

    APPLICATION THROUGH WHATSAPP

    To apply for the SRD grant on WhatsApp, follow the steps outlined below.

    • Send a WhatsApp message to 082 046 8553 if you want to apply.
    • The applicant is required to give any private information requested throughout the conversation.
    • The applicant will receive a reference number, an OTP number, and a website link.
    • Once the candidate has clicked the link and entered their OTP, they must select “verify.”
    • The applicant’s last name and ID number are both required.
    • The applicant attests that the information exchanged during the chat is true.
    • Please go to Step 2 ACKNOWLEDGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

    APPLICATION THROUGH WEBSITE

    • Open a new tab in your browser. Google Chrome, Opera Mini, Mozilla, etc.
    • To find it, type https://srd.sassa.gov.za.
    • The applicant enters their ID and phone number before clicking the send SMS button.
    • A 6-digit OTP will be given to the applicant.
    • The applicant must enter the OTP number and select the pin in order to validate.
    • Please proceed to Step 2: ACKNOWLEDGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

    APPLICATION THROUGH CHATBOT

    To apply through the SASSA Chatbot, follow the procedures outlined below.

    • In your browser, open a new tab.
      The website www.sassa.gov.za is accessible to users online.
    • The website’s chat box will be selected by the applicant to access support for the SRD R350 Grant.
    • The ID number and phone number of the applicant are both provided.
    • The candidate will choose the conversation option “I want to apply for the SRD R350 prize.”
    • The chatbot will offer a hyperlink to the SRD website.
    • The candidate will follow the regulations provided on the SRD website.

    SASSA Reapplication for SRD R350 Grant

    Following are the instructions for completing your reapplication at SASSA.

    1. Please access the SASSA website at srd.sassa.gov.za.
    2. After clicking, validate your grant application.
    3. Log in using a mobile device and your South African ID number.
    4. Activate your memory.
    5. Resubmit the application

    The SRD R350 award requires applicants to verify / reapply for their grants at least once every three months.
