Nsfas Hard Copy Application Form 2023-2024: The NSFAS bursary helps students who want to further their education by defraying the fees of attending any South African public university or college to pursue specific degrees. For those deserving students, this lessens the burden of student debt. NSFAS Hard Copy Application Form
- At one of the application centres, you can complete a paper copy of the application.
- Fill in the spaces on the NSFAS application form in CAPITAL characters and BLACK ink.
- Keep everything intact, and make sure your text is readable.
- Get the parent or legal guardian to sign the consent form.
- Have certified copies of the necessary supplementary documents on hand, and attach them to the application before submitting it.
- Documents must be certified on the front side of the page, and they must do so within three months.
- Send the application form, complete with your signature, to an NYDA assistant.
- A barcode will be included with the application. Wait for the brief receipt card acknowledgement with the duplicate barcode.
Documents Required For Manual NSFAS Applications
The following documents should be prepared as certified copies and they should be no more than three months old. At the South, your documents must be certified.
- African Post Office or the African Police Service. This also applies if you are under the age of 18 or if you are over 18 but STILL DEPENDENT on your parent’s or guardian’s combined household income:
- a legitimate copy of your birth certificate or South African ID. If you are under 16 years old and lack a green bar-coded ID or a smart
- certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate along with your application for an ID card.
- IDs for the guardian or parents (death certificate if applicable)
- IDs for each individual residing in your home
- A paystub or appointment letter, or other documentation showing your parents’, guardians’, or your own annual family income, if you are employed (This applies to all employment or income sources for all household members.) The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), grants from the SASSA, and any lump-sum or monthly payments of retirement, life, disability, or other benefits are also included in this.)
- a certified copy of your most recent exam results or transcript. (If you’re in Grade 12 right now, you don’t need to submit this.)
- Registrar’s records from the university (if applicable)
- Travel and lodging paperwork (if applicable)
- Proof of marriage (if applicable)
Who Is Eligible For NSFAS Funding
Applicants must follow four essential requirements in order to be eligible for bursaries;
- each and every South African
- All SASSA award recipients are eligible for funding
- applicants whose total annual household income is less than R350 000
- A person with a disability: The household’s annual income cannot be more than R600,000.
- students whose home income is not more than R122 000 yearly and who began their studies before 2024
NSFAS 2023 Opening Date
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will be open on 2 November and close on 21 January 2024.
