How To Track Your Nsfas Online Application Status

Within a few days of the deadline, applicants should expect a response to their application. If you haven’t heard from NSFAS yet, you should verify the progress of your application on your own. Follow the steps below.

  1. Log into your myNSFAS account portal.
  2. Enter your ID or username and password.
  3. Click the SIGN IN! button.
  4. Once you log into your account dashboard, click on Track Funding Progress to check your application status.
  5. If your application has been successful, Congrats! If not, better luck next time.

After checking your application status, there are a number of results you might receive from NSFAS funding. Here are what you could receive and what they mean:

  • Application Submitted: Your application has been loaded onto the NSFAS system successfully.
  • Filtering: The system checks if you are a returning student and whether you have any previous qualifications.
  • Validation: NSFAS is conducting third-party checks with SASSA and the Department of Home Affairs.
  • Evaluation: NSFAS is verifying all the documents you have submitted during your application.
  • Funding Eligibility: NSFAS is verifying your household financial status that was declared in your application.
  • Awaiting Academic Results/Admission: NSFAS is checking your academic results and your institution’s admission status to ensure that you meet the requirements to be funded by NSFAS. You will need your MyNSFAS Email and password to check your status online. Now with your internet-connected smartphone or computer, Open your web browser.

  • Step 1: Visit the MyNSFAS student portal via-www nsfas.org.za
  • Step 2: Next, Enter your Email and Password in the field provided.
  • Step 3: Finally, click on the Sign-In button to access your application status

How To Create My NSFAS Account Online

  • Log onto www.nsfas.org.za
  • Click on ‘register’
  • Complete the required fields (ID number, cellphone number and email address)
  • Upload a copy of your ID or birth certificate. If you are uploading a copy of a Smart-ID, please ensure that both sides are visible on the copy
  1. Type in first names (as per ID number)
  2. Type in Surname (as per ID number)
  3. Type in your ID number (will your username)
  4. Type in your own Email address
  5. Type in your own Cellphone number
  6. Accept terms and conditions Tick the box provided, to allow NSFAS to check the information provided (compulsory)

ID numbers, Names and Surnames are validated against the Department of Home Affairs database. Only valid South African ID information will be accepted.

Documents Needed When Creating Your Account

NSFAS may need more information from you to process your application, check what supporting documents are required and ensure that you have all the relevant information:

  1. Your own cellphone number and email address
  2. Copy of your ID or birth certificate
  3. ID copies of parents, guardians or spouse (If applicable)
  4. Your proof of income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable)
  5. Your parents, guardian or spouse’s proof of income
  6. If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required
  7. Applicants with a disability must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form, click here to download
  8. An applicant recognised as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form, click here to download.

Before you can check your NSFAS balance online, you must have an activated NSFAS Wallet Account. Again, you should have a Celbux account and be able to log in to your Celbuxappspot account. Kindly read through this article to know more about your NSFAS balance.

How To Check Your NSFAS Balance

There are two ways to check the balance in your NSFAS wallet to view the Nsfas statement of account. Check using your cell phone or via the internet.

Via cellphone

On your cellphone,

  1. Dial USSD code *134*176#
  2. Enter your password
  3. Click Send
  4. Select option 2. Query
  5. Finally, view your cash balance and transactions.

Via online

To check your nsfas wallet online (nsfas eWallet),

  1. Navigate to celbux.appspot.com.
  2. Log into your account by typing in your cellphone number and password.
  3. Click the “Login” button.
  4. In your account, click “More”.
  5. Then, click “Transactions”.
  6. Now, you can view your wallet balance.

Students must ensure that they have access to the cellphone number that they provided to NSFAS when applying for funding. This is because that number will be used to deposit their funds.

If your contact details have changed then you may update your cellphone number by registering on myNSFAS with your Facebook or Google account and then updating the number. This number must be accessible to you at all times.

My Nsfas Re Application 2023-2024

My Nsfas Re Application 2023-2024: NSFAS is a government entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training to give financial assistance to underprivileged students who seek to continue their studies at public universities or TVET colleges. To access your NSFAS funding progress through your MyNSFAS account, you must register a MyNSFAS account on the NSFAS official website. After registering, applicants can apply for funding. Kindly follow the instructions stated below to register and apply online.

When is NSFAS Opening for Applications?

 NSFAS Application for the 2023-2024 academic year will be opening on November 2, 2023, and close on the 21st of January 2024. No Late Application will be considered.

REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO RE-APPLY

  1. Provide your own cellphone number and email address
  2. You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
  3. National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
  4. The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
  5. The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  6. If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
  7. All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form

How To Re Register For NSFAS

  1. Go to www.nsfas.org.za
  2. Click myNSFAS tab

  4. Tick the box to allow NSFAS to verify your details
  5. Then capture your ID number as it is stated on your ID document
  6. Type in your full name and surname as per your ID document
  7. Type in your current email address
  8. Confirm your email address
  9. Type in your cell phone number
  10. Create a password
  11. Confirm password
  12. Upload ID copy
  13. Click Register
  14. OTP will be sent to the email and cell number provided (this OTP expires after 24 hours)

Moreover, before you can apply for NSFAS funding, you must be able to log into your account and that is your NSFAS portal login. Again, you can only control your personal information in your My NSFAS Account when you log into your portal. Follow the instruction below to log in to your portal

How To Create My NSFAS Account?

  • Visit the website, www.nsfas.org.za then click on My NSFAS account.
  • Click on Register.
  • Tick the box that will allow NSFAS to verify the details you provide.
  • Input your ID number as stated on your ID document.
  • Input your complete names including your surname as these appear on the ID document you have provided.
  • Input your email address.
  • Input your email address again to confirm it.
  • Input your cellphone number.
  • Input your preferred password.

  • Upload a copy of your ID document.

My Nsfas Website Login 2023-2024: Students or NSFAS applicants are strongly encouraged to create their MyNSFAS accounts to be able to access and manage all the important information regarding the National student financial aid scheme. Since all actions pertaining to Nsfas are done online, it is advisable for all applicants to create a Mynsafs account online so they can perform and get access to every information on Nsfas. The process is as follows:

How to Create An NSFAS Account On The Website?

  • Go to www.nsfas.org.za and select “myNsfas account” from the drop-down menu.
  • Finally, type in your login and password.
  • Select “My personal information” from the drop-down box.
  • Make sure your phone number and email address are up to date.
  • To continue, click “Update your details.”
  • To the new phone number and email address you supplied, a One-Time Pin (OTP) will be delivered.
  • Enter the OTP and click the submit button to submit it.
  • As soon as possible, your information will be updated.

If you already have an account, you can sign in with your username and password, as well as your Facebook and Google accounts.

Keep in mind that your phone number and email address must be unique to you and cannot be shared.

Don’t worry, you can easily reset your Nsfas login password by going to:

  1. Select “forgot your password” from the drop-down menu and input your ID number.
  2. Select whether or not you’ve forgotten your username and password, then click “Submit.”
  3. An OTP will be sent to you via email and SMS.
  4. Enter the OTP that was sent to you and click “Submit.”
  5. After that, you’ll be prompted to create a new password.

How To Access My Nsfas Allowance 2023-2024: Students looking for support through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) can start the funding application process by creating an NSFAS account and following the quick actions listed below to have access to the NSFAS allowance.

How To Access My Nsfas Allowance 2023-2024

To have access to your Nsfas allowance, you will need your cell phone and a valid SIM card. If you are a new student to NSFAS, you will need to sign your NSFAS Bursary Agreement. Once you have been awarded your NSFAS Bursary then dial *134*176# and enter your ID number to verify & authenticate your account. Your account password will be sent to you via SMS.

In order to receive your NSFAS allowances you will need to do the following:

  • You will need your cell phone and a valid SIM card.
  • If you are a new student to NSFAS, you will need to sign your NSFAS Bursary Agreement.
  • Once you have been awarded your NSFAS Bursary then dial *134*176# and enter your ID number to verify & authenticate your account.
  • Your account password will be sent to you via SMS. You will be able to access your account by dialling *134*176#.
  • Cash may be withdrawn from any of the participating stores (Shoprite, Usave, Checkers, SPAR, Choppies or Boxer).

How To Take Out/Withdrawn Nsfas Money

The first step is to create a cash voucher:

  1. Dial *134*176#
  2. Enter your NSFAS wallet password
  3. Select option 1. Cash Voucher
  4. Enter amount
  5. You will then get your voucher

The second step would be to go and withdraw it:

  1. Go to a merchant which has partnered with NSFAS and Celbux
  2. Through their NSFAS Wallet, they would then state how much they wish to withdraw
  3. A voucher will then be produced
  4. Present the voucher number to the merchant
  5. You will then be given cash in exchange for the voucher
