umoya sassa 2023-2024

If you receive a grant from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), you may wonder when your next payment will be, how much you will receive, or whether there are any issues with your application or account. To help you access this information more easily and conveniently, SASSA has launched an online portal called Umoya, which means “air” or “spirit” in Zulu and symbolizes the agency’s commitment to uplifting and empowering vulnerable individuals and families.

Umoya SASSA enables you to view your grant status, payment history, personal details, and communication records from your computer or mobile device, without having to visit a SASSA office or call a toll-free number. To use Umoya, you need to register and log in with your ID number, cellphone number, and email address. If you don’t have an email address, you can create a free one on platforms like Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook. Once you have set up your account, you can access the following features:

My Grants: This tab shows you a list of your current grants, their types, and the next payment date. If you have more than one grant, you can switch between them by selecting the drop-down menu on the top right corner.

Payment History: This tab displays your payment records for the past three months, including the dates, amounts, and payment methods. If you receive your grant through a bank account, you can also see the bank name, branch code, and account number. If you receive your grant through a SASSA card, you can check your balance and transaction history on the SASSA Card Reload Portal or at a SASSA pay point.

Personal Details: This tab allows you to view and update your personal information, such as your name, surname, date of birth, gender, marital status, and contact details. You can also upload your ID document, proof of residence, and medical certificate, as well as submit a request for a change of address, phone number, or banking details.

My Correspondence: This tab shows you a record of all the messages sent to you by SASSA, such as reminders, notifications, or requests for more information. You can also send a message to SASSA by clicking the “Send Message” button and selecting a category, subject, and description of your query or complaint.

Manage Profile: This tab enables you to change your password, update your security questions, or log out of your account. You can also share your feedback on Umoya SASSA by completing a brief survey.

Umoya SASSA is a secure and user-friendly platform that empowers you to manage your grants and personal information more efficiently and confidentially. By using Umoya, you can avoid long queues, delays, and errors that may occur when relying on traditional channels. However, if you encounter any technical issues or have a complex problem that requires more assistance, you can still contact SASSA through its toll-free number (0800 60 10 11) or email (enquiries@sassa.gov.za). Umoya SASSA is an additional service that complements, not replaces, the existing methods of communication and payment.
